2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Paul explained in the mentioned passage that as ambassadors for Christ we must be reconciled to God and in so doing proclaim GOD’S WORD FROM HIS PERPECTIVE AS IT IS WRITTEN. Paul urges us in Romans 12:2 not to be manipulated into a worldly view based on opinions or emotional driven humanitarian views.
In considering the role of an ambassador, it is very clear they are and have to be focused on representing their country in the political environment, speaking on behalf of their own country while sharing the country’s message with the host country. Their appointment is a representative appointment, their own opinion is less important as they voice their country’s opinion on certain issues. In the event that they deviate from that country’s policy they are at risk of losing their appointment.
WE AS AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST ARE NO DIFFERENT, our appointment is to represent God and His Word (policies), as founded in the Bible. Jesus called us to be the salt of the earth, and a light to the world. We do it based solely by proclaiming His love, concerns and opinions as written in His everlasting Word, the Scripture. We therefore need to be vigilant as we are being confronted with a world that through social media and the internet are flooded with propaganda mostly political in their motives. If we however allow the world to direct us, we lose sight of Christ and His Word.
Our position is a spiritual position, “ruling and reigning” with Christ from a heavenly position. The Word states in Ephesians 2:6 that God raised us into a position with Christ who is the head of the church, our position is not to rule according to our understanding but to rule with Christ. Meaning we rule from a Heavenly perspective and not a worldly or human perspective.
When praying the question is, do we adhere to God’s Word proclaiming and releasing what God spoke or do we ask based on what we believe is right. In Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.” In the original Greek, the phrasing indicates that believers on Earth align with and announce what God has already decided or permitted in Heaven, THE TRUE MEANING OF BEING AN AMBASSADOR. When it comes to praying for Israel as an ambassador for Christ, the Lord made it easy for us, as He filled His Word with promises that He will fulfill.
However, the Bible is also very clear concerning the enemies of God and warns that false teachers and evil forces use lies and trickery to mislead people, but we as believers/ambassadors of Christ can stand strong by knowing the truth of God’s Word, as it is written in 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
The mentioned is a warning to all of us, since the enemy is getting more aggressive in his approach to defeat the remnant of God’s children as the last days draw nearer. He uses different strategies to take our eyes off God and His Word, directing us to consider what seems unlawful, using the current politics of Israel to mobilize support against God’s chosen people and God’s covenant land. As an ambassador of Christ we are called not to focus on what Israel or the people of Israel is doing, we are called to love them as we pray God’s Word and the fulfilment thereof over them.
AS AN AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST, THERE IS ONLY ONE SIDE TO STAND BY, AND THAT IS THE TRUTH OF GOD’S COVENANT WORD. One of the characteristics of the enemy of God is, he lies in order to divide and in so doing rule. One of the principles of answered prayer is that we agree as mentioned in Matthew 18:18,19 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
The enemy uses division to stop the body of Christ from agreeing and succeeding. THEREFORE it is so imperitive that we love each other and not come into competition but only SERVE GOD AND HIM ONLY.
For Jesus said where 2 or more agree in My Name, whatever they ask will be given to them. Even though the word ‘whatever’ is used in this Scripture, the consensus in the body of Christ is the ‘whatever’ must be in agreement with Scripture.
Therefore consider praying for Israel from God’s Word and His heart concerning Israel, do not allow yourself to be influenced by the enemy’s propaganda. Israel as a political entity is not perfect, so are many other nations not perfect. But God’s Word is perfect and it is an everlasting Word. Governments change from time to time, but GOD’S WORD WILL NEVER CHANGE AND NO GOVERNMENT WILL BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE OUTCOME OF WHAT GOD ALREADY SAID!
